Vernon Paddling Centre Mission and Purpose

Map of Vernon Paddling CentreWhat is a paddling centre? We provide affordable recreational paddling, no need to own or store a boat. The club is a not-for-profit organization devoted to the promotion of safe and skillful paddling. The Vernon Paddling Centre Society (VPCS) is a club of independent paddlers who enjoy outrigger canoeing and other paddling sports.

VPCS’s mission is to promote a diverse paddling community, safety, and foster paddling to the community at large. We are always looking for new members.

    The Vernon Paddling Centre offers:
    • Use of club boats (outriggers, canoes, SUPs (stand-up Paddle Board) and surf skis)
    • Paddling Clinics
    • Group Paddles
    • Fun events
    • Boat Storage (A couple of spots still available.)
    • A great paddling community

Whether community members are just learning about the sport or are athletes looking for a new challenge, The VPCS club can accommodate residents.

Anyone can come out and try the canoes and surf skis to see how they enjoy the sport.

Please take the time to browse our website for more information.

It is the club's hope to welcome all types of paddlers to our Paddling Centre. Please contact our board of directors if you are interested in any of the programs or boat storage.

Access Revolution

The VPC has teamed up with Access Revolution

Access Revolution promotes inclusive access to outdoor recreation for people of all abilities by providing adaptive equipment, opportunities, education and resources.

The VPC, and Access Revolution believe that everyone deserves the right to play outside and participate in community, alongside their family and friends.

Over the coming year we are focused on the expansion of the VPC compound and programs to accommodate the adaptive equipment required to empower people living with disabilities to access Okanagan Lake and enjoy water activities such as stand up paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking.
